Jack Black drops out of ‘Man-Witch’
Jack Black is no longer starring in Todd Philips’ upcoming comedy “Man-Witch” for Warner Bros., according to Variety. Apparently, Black’s exit follows a conflict between the studio and his agent Sharon Sheinwold. Specific reasons have not been released at this stage.
Black was originally supposed to play a man who discovers he has supernatural powers and ends up teaching witchcraft to a bunch of girls. To me, that sounds a bit like “School of Rock” meets “Harry Potter,” although I'm sure he could have pulled it off quite well.
Despite Black’s exit, production on “Man-Witch” continues. The film is directed by Philips, whose credits include “Old School” and “Starsky & Hutch.”
Black’s voice can currently be heard in “Kung Fu Panda.” He will next be seen in Ben Stiller’s action comedy “Tropic Thunder."
