First Look: “Knowing”

Apocalyptic thrillers always lure massive audiences to theaters, and somehow, watching the world end on the big screen over and over again seems to be quite entertaining. USA Today posted an article about Alex Proyas’ upcoming action adventure “Knowing,” with Nicolas Cage in the lead role.

In the film, Cage plays a man who discovers a mysterious letter with numbers inside a time capsule at an elementary school. When he sees the digits 911, he knows the letter predicts different kinds of catastrophes, prompting him to head out and prevent as many as he can.

“Knowing” is currently filming and will hit theaters March 20, 2009. The project marks the return of Alex Proyas, who previously directed “Dark City” and “I, Robot.”

The first images from the film look inviting, although I’m not sure whether casting Nic Cage was the best choice. At least his hair looks a tiny little bit better than in “Next” or his upcoming action flick “Bangkok Dangerous.”
