changelingrelease.jpgA couple of weeks ago we mentioned a November release date for Clint Eastwood’s upcoming drama “Changeling,” which premiered at Cannes last month, but according to Variety, the film is now officially scheduled to open in limited release Oct. 24, 2008.

The film is set in 1920s Los Angeles, and tells the story of a mother (Angelina Jolie) whose son mysteriously disappears. A couple of months later, police tell her they found him, but she claims it’s not hers.

“Changeling” will open nationwide Oct. 31, 2008. Rumors about a title change surfaced after the film screened as “The Exchange” at Cannes, but Eastwood decided to stick with “Changeling.”

Eastwood directed a script by J. Michael Straczynski, whose credits also include “Ninja Assassin.” Also starring are John Malkovich and Amy Ryan.
