Unfinished ‘X-Files’ poster leaks online

xfilesposterunfinished1.jpgThe guys over at XFN send us a new “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” poster yesterday, claiming they found it on a Polish Web site. When I first saw the thing I had trouble believing in its authenticity, and my doubts were later confirmed. Apparently, it’s still a work in progress.

In a way I’m glad it’s unfinished business, because the poster (see below) is certainly not among the best I’ve seen for an “X-Files” flick. I like the blood forming the X in the snow, but it looks like Mulder and Scully have been cheaply glued into the background without any attention to detail. I sincerely hope they don’t mess it up. The official teaser poster was way more original.

New stills from the film keep popping up everywhere, but details about the plot are still being kept under wraps. I said this before already, but I don’t mind the secrecy around the whole story line, provided Chris Carter and his buddies don’t ruin everything by keeping fans guessing and then later delivering a poor plot. “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” opens July 25, 2008.

Check out the poster below and see if you like it. I don’t.
