Trailer Review: “Choke”

choketrailer.jpg

Our quick thoughts: Based on the novel by “Fight Club” author Chuck Palahniuk, Clark Gregg’s upcoming comedy “Choke” tells the story of a man who pays for his mom’s hospital bills by pretending to choke on food in top-notch restaurants. Sounds like a good plan to get a free meal, but being able to live off it? Smooth concept!

The first trailer for the Sundance winner popped up online earlier today, and I have to admit it rocks. Stylish music, nice editing and a great Sam Rockwell make this flick look quite compelling, and I am sure every Palahniuk fan will spend a few bucks to see the flick when it opens in limited release Sept. 26, 2008.

You can head over to the film’s official Web site for the trailer, or you can taste it in crappy quality just below. Don’t choke on it though; leave that to Mr. Rockwell.

Freaky quote: "I am the backbone of colonial America." - Sam Rockwell
