Austrian actor Klaus Maria Brandauer, who’s known for his role as Bror Blixen in “Out of Africa,” is currently filming Francis Ford Coppola’s upcoming drama “Tetro,” according to German Web site Filmstarts.de.Production on the film is currently underway in Argentina. Brandauer plays a double role in the movie, which centers on the rivalries of an artistic Italian immigrant family.
One of his roles will be the family’s patriarch. Says Coppola (translated from German), “The father is very complex, arrogant and tough. He’s powerful and controlling. Klaus Maria Brandauer dominates on screen just as much his character dominates the family.”
Besides his role in Sydney Pollack’s “Out of Africa,” Brandauer is known for playing villain Maximilian Largo in the James Bond remake “Never Say Never Again.”
“Tetra” will most likely hit theaters sometime next year.
