“Sex and the City” star Chris Noth has signed on to star alongside Renee Zellweger in Richard Loncraine’s comedy “My One and Only,” according to Variety.

Based on a childhood adventure of George Hamilton, the story focuses on Anne Deveraux, a dreamer who travels from town to town in search of a wealthy husband to help her establish a new life for her and her kids. Noth will play a retired military doctor who may just be the right candidate for Deveraux.

Loncraine, who previously helmed “Wimbledon” and “Firewall,” is directing a script by Charlie Peters. Filming is set to begin this June.

Noth is famous for his role as Mr. Big in TV’s success hit show “Sex and the City.” He reprises this role as main character Carrie Bradshaw’s lover in the big-screen adaptation of the series, which is scheduled to open this Friday.
