Actors Steve Buscemi and Ray Liotta have joined Michael Cera in Miguel Arteta’s adaptation of C.D. Payne’s novel “Youth in Revolt,” according to Variety. Cera jumps into the role of Nick Twisp, a teenager who meets the girl of his dreams on a family vacation, hoping she’ll be the one to steal his virginity. Buscemi plays Nick’s father.
Gustin Nash, screenwriter of “Charlie Bartlett,” penned the script with Arteta. Arteta’s directing credits include 2002’s “The Good Girl,” starring Jennifer Aniston.
Buscemi most recently directed and starred in “Interview.” He’s currently recording voices for MGM’s animated tale “Igor” and Disney’s “G-Force,” and recently wrapped principal photography for “John Rabe.”
Liotta was last seen in Uwe Boll’s “In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale” and has recently finished filming Wayne Kramer’s drama “Crossing Over.”
