Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon are ‘The Greatest’

brosnannews1.jpgVariety reports Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon have signed on to star in Shana Feste’s directorial debut “The Greatest.”

The family drama centers on a couple struggling to raise a daughter after the loss of a teenage son. Bronson and Sarandon will play the parents. The lead role has yet to be cast.

First-time director Feste also wrote the script. Her writing credits include Adam Penn’s 2004 short film “Jonah,” which starred Linda Hamilton.

Pierce Brosnan most recently appeared in Ira Sachs’ drama “Married Life.” He will next be seen in “Mamma Mia!” and is currently gearing up for principal photography on Paul Verhoeven’s “The Thomas Crown Affair 2.”

Sarandon is currently onscreen in the Wachowskis’ “Speed Racer” and has recently wrapped filming for Peter Jackson’s “The Lovely Bones.”
