Mary Elizabeth Winstead falls for ‘Pilgrim’

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in talks to star in Edgar Wright’s upcoming action comedy “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley, the film centers on a guy who has to defeat his new girlfriend’s seven ex-boyfriends. “Superbad” star Michael Cera will play titular character Scott Pilgrim, while Winstead will take over the role of his love interest.
Michael Bacall penned he screenplay. Wright most recently directed “Hot Fuzz.” He’s also working on the pre-production of “The World’s End,” an action comedy he co-wrote with longtime working buddy Simon Pegg.
Winstead is best known for her role in “Final Destination 3,” but her acting credits also include “Death Proof” and “Live Free or Die Hard.” She most recently wrapped photography for Darren Grant’s drama “Make It Happen."
