Our quick thoughts: A couple of days ago we released the first poster for Austin Chick’s upcoming drama “August,” and now the film has a new trailer. I have to admit the film does not necessarily seem to look the way I imaged it, but that doesn’t make it less interesting. On the contrary, the trailer is fast-paced and shows Josh Hartnett in what seems to be an adequate role for him.
As for the story line, the flick focuses on two brothers struggling to keep their new business afloat on Wall Street one month before the 9/11 attacks on New York City. The trailer doesn’t reveal any other plot details, but most of the film seems to center on main character Tom (Hartnett) and his struggle to generate some revenue before his plans all go down the toilet.
The cast also includes Naomie Harris, Adam Scott, Rip Torn and David Bowie. Chick also directed “XX/XY,” and most recently co-produced “Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead.” The film will open in theaters July 11, 2008.
Freaky quote: “I know money man. We can just make it. From here to there.” – Josh Hartnett
