Daily shorts: ‘Chipmunks 2’ and ‘Madagascar 2’ details

• For those of you adoring those singing chipmunks, “Alvin and the Chipmunks 2” will return to the big screen on March 19, 2010. (20th Century Fox)• DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. and IMAX Corporation announced Monday they will release “Madagascar: Escape to Africa” in IMAX on Nov. 7, 2008.
• According to MTV, filmmakers are already thinking about shooting several sequels to “Twilight” back to back. The first film, which tells the story of a teenage girl falling for a vampire, is due in theaters Dec. 12, 2008
• Variety reports Paramount Pictures bought “From Zero to Sixty,” a pitch for a comedy developed by Steve Martin. The project is supposed to reunite him with actress Diane Keaton, with whom he worked on “Father of the Bride.”
• Actual box office numbers confirm “What Happens in Vegas” soared past “Speed Racer” this past weekend at the North American box office with $20.1 million. “Speed Racer” took home only $18.6 million. (Variety)
