'Australia' movie stills debut on web
Can you believe it? Baz Luhrmann hasn’t made a movie in seven years. After the success of “Moulin Rouge,” he was basically not heard from again. Until now. Obviously, everyone is pretty excited about the release of “Australia,” which is scheduled to open nationwide Nov. 14, 2008.
Set in the 1930s, the film stars Nicole Kidman as an English aristocrat who inherits a huge cattle station and hooks up with stockman (Hugh Jackman) to protect her cattle from being taken over by a bunch of nasty barons. The two will later witness the bombing of the city of Darwin by Japanese soldiers.
New images from the film have been posted on the official Web site. While they do not reveal much, they sure point to a gorgeous look and make me want to see more. With a little bit of luck, we’ll see a teaser early this summer. Check out the wonderful pics below.
