It’s Thursday, and we’re back. Today, we have some casting updates and a new still from that new Steven Spielberg movie. Yeah, you know what I am talking about. In the news today, a best-selling author finally makes it to the big screen, Uma Thurman signs on to play a stressed mother in a comedy, and Sophie Monk goes hunting for singles in a new comedy. We also have a link to an interesting interview USA Today conducted with Harrison Ford. Plenty of news to catch up with, so enjoy.

Monk likes to break it hard
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sophie Monk is set to star in Leah Sturgis’ upcoming independent comedy “Hardbreakers,” which follows two single girls looking for love and trouble in the Los Angeles dating scene.

Monk previously starred in “Date Movie.” She was last seen in “Sex and Death 101.”

‘Beer in Hell’ to hit big screen
Bob Gosse will direct an adaptation of Tucker Max’s best-selling memoir “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Max rose to fame after posting a series of short stories on his Web site at TuckerMax.com. His best seller can still be found on the New York Times best-seller list.

The big screen adaptation of his novel follows Tucker as he causes mayhem at a friend’s bachelor party.

Bob Gosse also directed “Niagara, Niagara” and “Julie Johnson.”

Universal recruits director to break ‘Code’
Shane Abbess is set to direct Universal’s upcoming thriller “Source Code,” Variety reported earlier today.

Abbess celebrated his directorial debut with 2007’s “Gabriel,” an action spectacle he produced on a $200,000 budget.

Uma Thurman joins ‘Motherhood’
Variety Thursday reported Uma Thurman, Minnie Driver and Anthony Edwards have signed on to star in Katherine Dieckmann’s upcoming film “Motherhood.”

Thurman will play a mother who’s facing several challenges while gearing up for her daughter’s sixth birthday. Driver plays her closest friend, while Edwards jumps into the role of her husband.

Dieckmann also directed “Diggers” in 2006. Thurman latest film, “The Life Before Her Eyes,” opens in theaters tomorrow. She will next star in “The Accidental Husband,” a comedy scheduled to open Aug. 22, 2008.
