Our quick thoughts: Sony Pictures Classics just released the first teaser trailer for “The Wackness,” which took home the Audience Award at the 2008 Sundance festival. The teaser is definitely too short to find out what really goes on in the film, but I totally dig what I’ve seen so far. The film is apparently set in 1994, and the music accompanying the trailer couldn’t be more fitting. Dialogue is scarce in this teaser as well, but I seriously couldn’t keep myself from laughing several times.
“The Wackness” is written and directed by Jonathan Levine, whose horror flick “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane” has been delayed several times and is still awaiting release in the United States. As for the plot, it centers on a young drug dealer who falls for his psychiatrist’s daughter. The cast includes Josh Peck, Ben Kingsley, Famke Janssen, Olivia Thirlby, Method Man and Mary-Kate Olsen.
Freaky quote: "I just never officialy had sex." - Josh Peck.
Check out the teaser trailer right HERE or below (while it lasts). A full-length trailer is expected to debut in the coming months.
