“Shine A Light” website alive and kicking

Last week, Paramount announced the launch of the Web site for “Shine A Light,” Martin Scorsese’s documentary about the Rolling Stones’ 2006 concert at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Now the page is up and running, offering a horde of interesting content for fans of the band and people looking forward to catch the movie in theaters when it opens nationwide April 4, 2008.

Besides short film clips separating the different categories, the site includes an elaborate synopsis, a short bio of Martin Scorsese, and a list of all the cinematographers who worked on the film. Additional information about the success of the Rolling Stones is also provided.

The video section comprises the official trailer, and a gallery features some interesting stills from the film and portraits of the Stones with Scorsese.

AIM icons, wallpapers and banners for the film can be downloaded as well, and a link section points to the movie’s MySpace page and the official sites for Christina Aguilera and The White Stripes, who stopped by the Beacon Theatre and joined Mick Jagger and his gang on stage.

“Shine A Light” will also be released in IMAX theaters.
