Director Zack Snyder and his wife Deborah told Sci Fi Wire that the running time of "Watchmen" has not yet been officially approved.
Whatever happens, it will probably run a bit shorter. According to Deborah Snyder, who's producing the flick, they're at two hours and 35 minutes right now.
And here's what Zack Snyder had to say: "The director's cut [of 'Watchmen'] is about three hours and 10 minutes long. It has even more than the theatrical version, as far as the detail that gets even closer to the graphic novel."
It may be a little early to say this, but I sure want to see that director's cut one day. And if you can't enough of "Watchmen" news today, here's something else to get excited about:
"Zack was shooting an animated version of the graphic novel's comic-within-a-comic, 'Tales of the Black Freighter,' which is envisioned as a separate DVD release coinciding with Watchmen's theatrical debut in March," according SCI FI Wire.
Sounds good; I'm thrilled already. "Watchmen" is set to open nationwide March 6, 2009.
