John Brownlow is set to write the screenplay for the Warner Bros. remake of 1935's "Captain Blood," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Directed by Michael Curtiz, the original film starred Errol Flynn and focused on a doctor who becomes a pirate after being convicted of treason and sold into slavery.
Phillip Noyce, whose credits include "The Saint" and "Rabbit-Proof Fence," is attached to direct Brownlow's script.
Brownlow also wrote the screenplay for Christine Jeffs' biopic "Sylvia." He recently completed writing "The Hero" and "Sabbatical," two projects currently in development.
Yay, another pirate flick? Maybe Johnny Depp could play Blood. How about that?
