'Twilight' sequel ready to shoot in March?

Now that Catherine Hardwicke's "Twilight" has collected about $120 million in just two weeks, we're hearing a lot about the sequel, "New Moon."

As Joblo reports, lead actress Kristen Stewart recently talked to Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM, saying the follow-up to the vampire romance may start shooting as early as March 2009.

People also tell me part of the second book takes place in Italy, and according to Stewart, they may even end up filming over there.

While talking to MTV recently, Hardwicke also chatted about the challenges she'll have to deal with in "New Moon."

“[Bella hearing Edward’s voice] would be one of the challenges for sure. Like, how much do you see it? Does it look like an aberration? Does it look like it’s in her mind? That’s one of the things you would have to test," she told MTV.

And just in case you haven't heard or read it yet, Stewart and co-actor Robert Pattinson will apprently receive a $12 million paycheck for the second film.

That's all the "New Moon" news I got for you today. Are you excited? Share all of your thoughts below.

I want to audition for New Moon! Great cast and great book. I'm sure the script will mirror that.

I think that the Twilight series should become a made for TV drama series. There are so many characters that can be intricately developed, and so much more that I want to know and see abou Edward and Bella. It would be riveting!

I think they should get a new director for the next film. I'm sorry but "Twilight" could have been a lot better. It will be really disappointing to have "New Moon" be just as bad. Hopefully they will get another screenwriter as well, I mean "Come with me my little spider monkey." What is that?!! The movie became a comedy it was so cheesy. Hopefully "New Moon" will have better directing, writing, cinematography, and acting. The reason why this movie made so much was due to the popularity of the books, not the quality of the film.
...And when a vampire is supposed to be hairless they should either wax or not do so many close ups...

Although if done well, I think the TV series idea would be very profitable.

Im so excited to hear the 2nd movie is going to be filming soon. Id love to get a chance to audition to be in the movie. I took theatre in college and I loved it and my professor whom is an actress herself said I'd be a great actress. I'd also love to get a chance to meet robert and just talk with him about interests, hobbies, family, friends, whatever, he seems so down to earth and easy to get along with. I like to see that in actors, because most of them let the fame go to their head and become snobs and think they are better than everyone else. Actors are regular people but have better paying jobs then most do in this world.

I think that the bad effects in Twilight were due to the budget. I have read reports in Variety that The studio heads of Summit don't think that New Moon needs to have a bigger budget....THEY ARE WRONG! New Moon needs to have a bigger budget to allow the action sequences to not look like they were filmed in 1999. I think that Ms. Hardwicke did a great job with what she had to work with. I also agree about the script. Please Mrs. Meyer, don't let crappy "spider monkey" lines ruin your amazing work.
I think it would be cool to have Bella slowly accept Edward's voice. Maybe at first she thinks that she sees him, and then slowly the audience sees that she is hearing it in her head, and not actually seeing him. But, like anyone with a broken heart she is seeing him everywhere, and in everything. I can't wait to see the cliff diving scene!

i really want 2 see new moon because it is my favorite one. i hope they do lots of scenes with the werewolves (especially Jacob lol) i do think they need a bigger budget because new moon has lots more special effect with the wolves and i want them to look good not, as nancy said 'like they were filmed in 1999' .

PS isabel 1 what is with wanting 2 punch jacob, he is awesome!

The movie was just lacking special effects and certain scenes from the book but that is because they did not have a lot of money to work with. I don't think the directors/producers knew how big it would be. I think since the movie did so well they will put more money into the second one. I think the director did just fine with what she was given.

I'm excited for the second film. I, too would like to audition for it. Perhaps they could film some in Iowa? :) Just a thought.

K, first of all he said "you better hold on spider monkey" so if your gonna quote the movie, get it right, haha... I have read all the books and yet still I think the movie was so amazing, I've already seen it 5 times. What more effects were needed? The story is supposed to be as real life as possible, with the lil secret twists of vampires living amongst the townsfolk. Also, why would edward be hairless? He frozen a 17 year old (w hair) and stephanie meyer dosnt stick to "traditonal vampire rules" that's what makes her stories so much more fresh and new. Anyway I can't wait for "NEW MOON", except that hopefully the movie won't make me as sad as the book did in the begining......
