Rob Zombie to return for 'Halloween 2'?

Last month we learned that the sequel to 2007's remake "Halloween" would launch into production early next year, but one question remained in the open: who's on board to direct?

Well, according to Shock Till You Drop, the latest rumor is that Rob Zombie will return to helm the follow-up. This remains unconfirmed at this stage, so make sure you take this with a grain of salt.

The only other thing we know at this stage is that Tyler Mane will reprise his role as Michael Myers.

If Zombie returned for "Halloween 2," what will happen to his other upcoming project, "Tyrannosaurus Rex"? Word out there on the Web is that it will probably be put on hold for now.

Whatever happens, I still don't think more "Halloween" remaking is a good idea. Feel free to share your thoughts on this below.

I'm as big of a die-hard Halloween fan as there is anywhere and I just don't get how another chance to see our favorite horror icon on the big screen can be looked at as a negative? Was the 2007 remake as good as JC's original? No, but then again what WILL be as good as the original in ANY film franchise? Zombie put his own unique spin on it, gave us a different perspective and in my humble opinion offered a pretty good horror experience for any true Halloween fan! I always say "stop comparing it to the original" otherwise you're bringing your own let-down on yourself! Besides that ,who would really pay the money it costs these days to see the SAME EXACT movie that was shot back in 1978 simply because of the better special effects? From what I'm reading the sequel to the 2007 remake will be nothing like the original sequel (which I thought was pretty good too) and I think that's a great idea because now we'll get to see a completely different story altogether! Behind every successful film there will always be legions of haters and detractors! To those people "STAY THE HELL HOME BECAUSE NOONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK!" Obviously the 2007 version did well enough for the studios to risk investing in another film, so how can all those people be wrong? I'm super psyched for this installment and can't wait to see what kind of story Rob comes up with!
