'New Moon' gets official release date

That's right "Twilight" fans. Summit Entertainment announced Monday it will release "New Moon" on Nov. 20, 2009, according to Variety.
To be honest, that's pretty much what I expected to happen, because Summit scored big this year by releasing the first film based on Stephenie Meyer's novel Nov. 21.
Last weekend, Catherine Hardwicke's vampire romance lifted its domestic total to $150 million. Despite the success of the movie, Hardwicke will not return, and Chris Weitz will direct instead.
So far, "New Moon" will share the release date with "Sherlock Holmes" and "Planet 51."

why is it coming out so late why not sooner?
er.... to the comment above me... they have to make the damn movie. cast more people. work harder on it because alot more is riding on the success of this movie.
i think its plenty of time. hey maybe kristen can even learn to act in that time. we can only hope. fingers crossed they dont screw this up like they did twilight.
and yayayayayayayaya a whole movie full of jacob. cant wait. only 280 days to go......
umm yea ok to the two comments above umm yea ok they have to make the movie and Erin btw Kristen can act ok she is perfect for that role so don't go dissing things you couldn't do any better so how bout this shut ur mouth ok and they didn't screw up Twiight either ok that movie was amazing ok if u got a problem with it then don't watch them jeez god learn t apreciate things!!

omg EDWARD is TOTALY better than jacob besides bella never liked jacob through all 4 book n it said she falls in love with jacob while edward disappears but wen edward comes back she totaly takes him back and finds she is in love ith both of them but her love for edward is much greater. BTW bella punches jacob n breaks his jaw cuz he forcefully kisses her u guys can get this stuff on wikipedia u know cuz i havent read new moon but iv seen twilight n no it wasnt edited and that stuff was posted on wikipedia by Stephenie Meyer soo ya

ok guys SERIOUSLY!!!!!! I see you refer to Kristen, Edward and Jacob.... First of all Jacob and Edward are only CHARACTERS not real...... And yeah who doesn't love Vamps? They're so mysterious... But then again who doesn't love wolves who's like a ray of sunshine and comes to your rescue? Well I guess I'm just a chick who diggs the SUPERNATURAL.... As for the fuss about Kristen I agree she fits the role, although I was annoyed with those pauses in the movie, I guess that's how it's been directed and that's how Bella was described in the book, this shy girl... Besides in the 4th book these 3 people unite and becomes one family, so why the fuss really??? But I can't wait to see this movie and how it's gonna be brought to the screen...

I love Twilight I'm totally obsessed with it... I'm Team Edward too, and yeah, whoever's Team Jacob obviously hasn't read all the books. I can't wait for New Moon but I understand it takes time to actually MAKE the movie - I don't want them to rush it, I want them to take their time so it comes out brilliant! And meanwhile, I can re-re-re-re-re... etc... read New Moon to remind myself of the plot (as if I don't know it off by heart =P). The first movie sucked compared to the book. yes, i know that that is how it always goes, but in this case the suckyness was detramental. they added an entired sceen that wasn't even in the book and lost valuble time in doing so for more detail. Hopefully with the new director and more money "New Moon" will be better.

OMG. Not sure about which team I'm on.....Jacob is sooo hot in the film and his character's really cute too, but Bella likes Edward better and in the book apparently he SUPPOSED to be gorgeousssss..(no offence intended to Robert Pattison)(wait was that Robert Patterson or Robert Pattison?). Can there be a team Carlilse and team Emmett??? Because personally I think they're both sooo hot as well. Even though Carlilse is like 22 or something....he's frozen in time....never going to age again! Oh yeah and sorry Rosalie...I like Emmett too! :P BTW (by the way) have they decided who is going to play Reneesme (soz if I spelt it wrong) Cullen??? Soooo curious! :P
