Confirmed: Rob Zombie directs 'Halloween 2'

We've heard a lot of rumors surrounding the sequel to Rob Zombie's 2007 remake "Halloween" lately, and here's a quick update on what's happening with that film.

According to Variety, Rob Zombie has signed on to write and direct "H2," which is expected to launch into production early next year. Release date would be in October 2009.

The trade also says the second film kicks off immediately where its predecessor ended, "following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted."

Zombie, who was originally not compelled to return as director, said the sequel will not resemble the original follow-up too much.

Zombie's 2007 remake grossed almost $60 million domestically. I didn't really enjoy that flick that much, so I couldn't care less about a sequel. But how about you? Are you digging Zombie is back?

i cant wait for this movie (obviously i love the halloween movies) i think its good that rob zombie is coming back for the sequel because most other people would fuck up the story that rob left at the end of the remake.

I'm very excited that Rob is returning. Nobody else could do it. Need more sex and blood. Rob would be great to direct the next Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
