Jack Black to star in ‘Gulliver’s Travels’

Jack Black has signed on to star in Rob Letterman’s updated version of “Gulliver’s Travels.”

The story is a famous one: a writer named Lemuel Gulliver travels to Bermuda for an assignment and discovers a hidden island with tiny inhabitants.

The Hollywood Reporter says Nicholas Stoller, screenwriter of “Fun with Dick and Jane,” is cleaning up a script by Joe Stillman.

Black was last seen in Ben Stiller’s “Tropic Thunder.” He will next star alongside Michael Cera in Harold Ramis’ comedy “The Year One.”

As for Letterman, he’s currently working on the post-production for “Monsters vs. Aliens.”
