Lionsgate snatches 'More than a Game'

Lionsgate has acquired distribution rights to Kristopher Belman's documentary "More Than a Game," according to Variety.

The film, which premiered in Toronto this year, focuses on the high school days of NBA star LeBron James, who grew up in Akron, Ohio.

According to the trade, "Game" features plenty of archival footage, family memorabilia and new interviews. The film is described as a "feel-good story of overcoming adversity."

Apparently, Lionsgate is shooting for a fall 2009 release.
