'Quantum' continues overseas box office reign

"Quantum of Solace" remained at the top of the international box office this weekend with another whopping $40.6 million in ticket sales, bringing its overseas total to $309 million.

Worldwide, the latest 007 adventure has collected $418.4 million in just a few weeks. Following at a distant No. 2 was Ridley Scott's spy thriller "Body of Lies," which took home $10 million after expanding to 34 markets. Its current overseas total stands at $32.1 million.

Still going strong was "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa," which lifted its international total to $59 million after this weekend's earnings of $9 million in only 12 territories. Meanwhile, "Twilight" opened in just a few markets overseas, scoring $8.1 million.

Other results: Disney's "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" picked up $4.5 million to reach a total gross of $129.3 million, while John Moore's "Max Payne" pulled in $4.4 million for a cumulative gross of $36.5 million.
