'Butler Well Served' coming to the big screen

Sony has acquired the rights to adapt "A Butler Well Served by This Election," a recent feature story written by Wil Haygood for the Washington Post.

Variety says the article follows the life story of Eugene Allen, an African-American who worked as a butler at the White House for 34 years.

Allen saw a total of eight presidents come and go; from Harry Truman to Ronald Reagan. He left the White House in 1986.

Although a screenwriter has not been announced yet, Haygood will do some reearch for the project, and he will serve ass associate producer.

This definitely sounds like a compelling project. You don't see a story like that of a butler serving in the White House on the big screen too often.
