New 'Dragonball' images debut online

Dbthemovie.com recently posted three new stills from James Wong's upoming "Dragonball" adventure, a film I simply can't warm up to quite yet. Maybe I haven't seen enough footage from the film yet, but so far, what I've seen didn't impress or intrigue me at all.

Anyway, you can check out one of the pics above and another one after the jump. Dbthemovie.com has one more for you right here. The film stars Justin Chadwin, Joon Park, Jamie Chung, Emmy Rossum and Yun-Fat Chow, among others. Scheduled release date is April 10, 2009.

Now, who's excited about this big-screen adaptation?

Once the official trailer comes out people will eat their words and if not then they just simple hate Dragonball.

As a hardcore fan of the Dragon Ball series I´m of course excited about the movie although I have my doubts about the adaptation to the big screen. I simply can not imagine how they will come up with something that pleases the majority of the fans, meaning special effects for the famous kamehameha or the transformations (fans will know what I mean).
Plus the cast for the movie looks terrible. Son Goku, the main character, is not even asian...

I'm a huge DB/Z fan and I'm not excited at all. This movie is a total slap in the face to the fans who made the series so popular. They pop-ified it with this crappy casting. Chatwin is a total wimp. A little hairy wimp playing Goku, sorry but no. I'm boycotting this turd and I hope other fans do the same. If this movie is a financial success, Fox said they'll make sequels. I for one do NOT want to see the Saiyan and Frieza sagas get raped along with Son Goku-King Piccolo arcs.

There's a petition against this movie trying to prevent the sequels and letting Fox know what the fans think of this 'adaptation'.

This movie pisses me off. From what i have seen this movie will be crap. for one Goku in dragon ball is supposed to be SHORT, for 2 Bulma Does NOT NOT NOT Oh and did I mention NOT Fight. Especially with Guns. I have never seen previews for a worse movie. I was expecting something good with a non violent Bulma and a kickass goku. What I got was a crappy ninja kung fu movie with our characters names. This movie should be burned before it comes out. Email me if you have problems. Flamefrost2@yahoo.com

Alright, I have to agree with a lot of the comments- this movie is not grabbing my ever-loving DBZ addicted a$$ at all thus far. But, I cannot however agree with the petition just yet. I say give them a chance, lets see what they've done with it before we judge it. It's probably going to be crap, and I will boycott with the rest of the fans to make sure they don't butcher it any further, but I can't boycott something I haven't seen. The casting does look wrong, and the story seems to be first rate butchering of an otherwise genius manga/anime, but they could surprise us. I doubt it, but they could.

im sorry, but first off, goku isnt asain, the dragonball universe doesnt even take place in a realm with our earth in it, there is no japan, or asia for that matter. and goku isnt supposed to be short, he's supposed to be a child, midgets are short, children are children. how can you propose a boycott on something no one has ever seen just off principle, thats not even a boycott by the way, its catholic censorship. there is not a single great thing writen converted to film without beaurocratic liberties both given to it and taken from it. hollywood ruins all great things by producing for the largest audience possible, not just the few million of us worldwide that have been following this one story our entire lives. i hope to kai that there are sequels, dragonball was always so bubble gum, dbz is where the fun really begins, make em all the way through buu---f%&k GT--i'll be camping out for the ticket. besides it won't matter too much who's filling goku's shoes, he's dead most of the time anyway.

oh and HATETHISMOVIE, bulma doesn't use a gun, however that doesnt mean she never defended herself, but she did so in a capsule pod, once in dragonball, red ribbon army, and again in dbz, on namek, fighting the giant crab, and that pod was armed to the teeth, douchbag.

Wonder why are there still those who deny the fact that Saiyan are Asian looking. Vegetat even said so himself.
No wonder all the Asians are pissed to the point they are boycotting this crap

If you all would actually watch DB and not just DBZ you would remember that bulma does carry a gun around!
