Filmmaker David O. Russell is set to direct New Line Cinema's upcoming comedy "The Grackle," which also stars Matthew McConaughey.
According to Variety, the film follows a New Orleans barroom fighter who hires himself out for $250 to settle disputes for people who can't afford to hire a lawyer.
Mike Arnold and Chris Poole wrote the script for the project, which the trade says will likely end up as a raucous R-rated comedy.
Russell has recently completed "Nailed," which went through all sorts of financial trouble and caused production to shut down several times. I only hope things work smoother on this one.
Other Russell credits include "Flirting with Disaster," "Three Kings" and "I Heart Huckabees."
