Joaquin Phoenix done with acting for good!?

If you hate Joaquin Phoenix, you probably don’t care about this anyway and should stop reading. But if you’re a fan, here some sad news for you: Phoenix announced he’s retiring from acting.

Yeah, I still don’t know whether to really believe it, but that’s what the Oscar-nominated actor said in the interview you can check out just below. He said he’s pretty much done it all at this stage, and he would like to focus more on his music.

As you can see in the clip after the jump, the reporter conducting the interview acted quite unprofessionally, laughing at Phoenix and asking him if he was really serious about this. Well, Phoenix was obviously not pleased.

Phoenix’s last film is “Two Lovers,” a James Gray-directed drama opening Feb. 13, 2009. Well Joaquin, good luck with the music.

I love Joaquin! I have loved him in evey movie he has done. he is so emotional, yet he brings that to his acting. He is the character and you beleive him when he acts. He is just great and i will miss seeing him on screen but luckily I have most of his movies on DVD so I can see him ehenever I want.
He will do great with this music thing too, he is great with everything he does.

Yeah, when a famous actor gives you an exclusive like this, the last thing you want to do is laugh at him and tick him off. That's kind of a gimme. Very unprofessional on the reporter's part.

That being said, I don't think I knew Pheonix was that into his music, but good for him! I will be sad to see him go though, but hey, maybe it'll be like Hugh Grant's "retirement" which only lasted a couple of years.
