USA Today has your first look at Ron Howard’s upcoming “Angels & Demons,” the follow-up to the 2006 hit movie “The Da Vinci Code.”

Based on the novel by Dan Brown, the film follows Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) on his quest to interrupt a plot to destroy the Vatican.

Also starring in the anticipated film are Ewan McGregor, Stellan Skarsgård, Ayelet Zurer and Thure Lindhart.

Final word: I attended the world premiere of “Da Vinci” in Cannes in 2006, but the flick bored me to death. Let’s hope this one is a little more fast-paced.
