McG to helm ‘Dead Spy Running’

Franck Tabouring McG is set to direct the big-screen adaptation of Jon Stock’s spy novel “Dead Spy Running” for Warner Bros.
We don’t know much about the plot at this stage, but the Hollywood Reporter says it is the first of a trilogy. Think a new kind of “The Bourne Identity” spy thriller.
Warner hopes to launch a franchise character with this first project, although it’s unclear whether McG will direct more than one film.
McG is currently in post-production for “Terminator Salvation.” His directing credits also include “We Are Marshall” and the two “Charlie’s Angels” flicks.
Final word: Jason Bourne proved spies are still awesome, so this better be a badass story with some new ideas.
