'Tijuana Straits' gets big-screen treatment

Producers Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban are set to pick up the rights for the big-screen adaptation of Kem Nunn’s novel “Tijuana Straits” via 2929 Productions.

Variety says the novel follows a reclusive ex-surfer drawn into protecting a woman who’s hunted by a cartel for knowing secrets about a corruption in Tijuana.

Ric Roman Waugh, who recently helmed the Val Kilmer vehicle “Felon,” is set to write the screenplay and direct the project.

Didn’t read the novel, but sounds like an interesting premise.
