Todd Field is in talks to direct Paramount Vantage’s crime drama “Buried,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The trade says Brad Ingelsby will write the project, which centers on a couple who have to deal with a change in their relationship after they commit a crime.
Originally, the story is based on an article written by James Keene and Hillel Levin.
Field’s directorial credits include “In the Bedroom” and “Little Children.” He is also gearing up to helm “Blood Meridian.”
As for Ingelsby, THR says he’s all set to pen “Sleeper” for Sam Raimi while he’s still in talks to write “The Low Dweller” for Ridley Scott.
Final word: We may not know much about the plot at this stage, but with Field on board to direct this thing, get ready for a thought-provoking character study.
