Franck Tabouring Anne Hathaway has signed on to star in Burr Steers’s romantic comedy “The Fiance” for Warner Bros.
Variety says the film follows a woman who calls off her wedding and dumps her seemingly perfect fiancé in order to figure out who she really is. Her parents, however, have different plans for her.
Dyanne Stempel and Jennifer Robinson wrote the original script, with Etan Cohen doing the rewrite. Cohen recently wrote “Tropic Thunder” and just completed the script for an upcoming Sherlock Holmes project with Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen.
Hathaway, one of Hollywood’s busiest actresses, is currently onscreen in “Rachel Getting Married.” She will next be seen in Gary Winick’s “Bride Wars,” followed by Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.”
Steers, whose credits include 2002’s dramedy “Igby Goes Down” (interesting flick by the way), just wrapped “17 Again” with Zac Efron in the lead.
Final word: I enjoy watching Hathaway in whatever role or project, so bring it on!
