Amy Adams seeks marriage in ‘Leap’
Actress Amy Adams is in talks to star in Spyglass’ upcoming romantic comedy “Leap Year,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
In the film, she would play a woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on leap day, Feb. 29. Tradition says men have to say yes if women ask them for marriage on that day.
When bad weather threatens to ruin her plan, however, she embarks on a turbulent trip with an Irish innkeeper to pull off her proposal before it’s too late.
Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan, whose credits include “Surviving Christmas” and “Made of Honor,” wrote the script. No director is attached to the project at this stage.
Adams last starred in ‘Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day.” The “Enchanted” star will next be seen alongside Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman in John Patrick Shanley’s “Doubt.”
Well, "Christmas" sucked big time, and "Made" was not necessarily a solid romantic comedy either. Let's hope Eflont and Kaplan come up with something a little more original this time.
