Ready for the ‘Wall Street’ sequel?

It’s been 21 years since the release of Oliver Stone’s Oscar-winning “Wall Street,” but hey, it’s never too late for a sequel, right?

And a sequel you will get! According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox is moving forward with the follow-up to Stone’s flick, which at this point is titled “Money Never Sleeps.” I personally think that title stinks.

Anyway, plot details are kept under wraps of course, but what we do know at this point is that Gordon Gekko will return. Michael Douglas played the character in the first film.

Although Douglas is interested in reprising his role, the trade says he hasn’t confirmed anything quite yet. Apparently it all comes down to whether he likes the script, which Allan Loeb is writing.

Loeb’s credits include “Things We Lost in the Fire,” “21” and television’s “New Amsterdam.”

So, do you really want to take another trip to Wall St.? I just think this whole idea is utterly stupid and pointless. There, I said it. Now you can hate me.
