Live-action 'Mulan' coming to big screen

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Xinhua Media Entertainment and the China Film Group are pairing up to develop a live-action version of Walt Disney's "Mulan."

Not much is known about the film's plot at this stage, and no cast has been announced yet. The only thing we know is the film is set to begin principal photography in the spring. The budget is set at $30 million.

Disney's "Mulan" was released in 1998 and focused on a high-spirited Chinese girl who would become one of China's greatest heroes of all time.

We'll let you know as soon as we have more information about the project.
